BALDRIGE NATIONAL PROGRAM PRESS RELEASE:
WASHINGTON, D.C.; Dec. 7, 2009—President Barack Obama and Commerce Secretary Gary Locke today announced that five organizations are the recipients of the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation’s highest Presidential honor for innovation and performance excellence.
The Maryland Performance Excellence Foundation (MPEF) is now the sponsor for the MPEA program. We are working on plans for a scaled-back 2010 awards program to begin in early 2010.
The Maryland Performance Excellence Foundation is pleased to introduce Mike Novak as Director for the 2010 Awards Program Cycle! Mike will lead our Awards Program Team as we begin planning for another great year. Stay tuned for more information as the awards cycle is expected to begin early in January, 2010.
The Foundation received notification from the Internal Revenue Service of its approval as a tax-exempt, charitable organization. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, donations to the organization are tax-deductible. Contributions may be mailed to the Foundation or made here with a credit card, debit card or PayPal account.
The 2008 award recipients were announced at the 2009 MPEA Conference and Awards Ceremony by the University of Maryland and U.S. Senators Barbara Mikulski and Benjamin Cardin.
Nearly 200 professionals gathered at the University of Maryland on March 23, 2009 to celebrate performance excellence with a day of sharing of best practices by national and state award recipients, networking with other professionals with an interest in organizational excellence and presentation of the 2008 Maryland Performance Excellence Awards.
The 2009-2010 Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence is now available for downloading or you may request a copy from MPEA. Criteria books are available for Business (includes nonprofit and public sector), Education and Health Care.
